The Future of Work 2022

JLL has released the The Future of Work Survey 2022, the first Future of Work Survey since 2018. As you can imagine, there’s been a lot of changes to work over the past four years.

JLL identifies five conclusions to the survey, two are listed below:

  • Strategic decision-makers cannot ignore the last impact of hybrid work on their organization.

  • Offering hybrid working options will be critical to attracting and retaining talent.

To anyone in the workforce over the past two years, that should be no surprise. However, it is confirming what we, at Kamp, have been anticipating.

JLL also lists 5 ‘key messages’ that emerged from the survey. Two are especially pertinent to hybrid work.

  • Hybrid working is here to stay and calls for the rejuvenation of the office.

77% of respondents agree/strongly agree that offering remote/hybrid working will be critical to attracting and retaining talent and53% of organizations surveyed will make remote working permanently available to all employees by 2025.

  • Real estate needs are becoming more sophisticated and complex.

JLL is talking about real estate needs within the context of owning office space. JLL lists stats about outsourcing for sustainability, energy supply, technology solutions, etc.

The same can be said about multi-family real estate. With the changing workscape, the real estate needs of employees are also becoming more complex. The employee experience is changing - commercial real estate is changing - residential and multi-family real estate is changing.
